ABOUT OUR CEO

Adria Buchanan, CEO and Principal Consultant, is a dynamic community development professional with a background in regulatory compliance and social justice.

She began her career tracking government spending and best practices in electronic governance, abroad, in Bangalore, India. After returning to the United States Adria built and ran compliance programs; securing re-accreditations and industry distinctions for organizations in the healthcare and financial services space while also implementing internal controls to limit risk and protect consumers. This has informed her understanding of - and strategies for - how organizations best operate in service to their stakeholders.
 
Determined to bridge compliance and community, Adria began consulting with government agencies in 2014 to help them SEE the bigger picture, SPOT prime opportunities and RUN to implement. 
 
Adria holds a B.A. in Geography from Dartmouth, and M.A. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware. In addition to consulting, Adria also serves as the Executive Director of a civil rights non-profit, a college Trustee, and a newly elected planning commissioner. Her research exploring stakeholder engagement in local government decision-making has been published in the Journal of Planning Theory and Practice.
